About This Game It’s August 2021 and you're recruited by Nakagawa Corp., Japan's leading robot manufacturer. Agrihan, Nakagawa’s private island in the South Pacific was infiltrated. The robots are acting strangely. Agrihan ( Bot Colony) is a Mars testbed staffed mostly by robots - so you'll need to talk to THEM to investigate what happened.Bot Colony ( www.botcolony.com) is unique in that it's currently the ONLY game on the planet relying on AI-based conversation as the main game mechanic. You speak in English with robots (or type) in order to advance in the game. Bot Colony will appeal to players interested in genre-defining games with novel mechanics. If you enjoy figuring out how to get through to robots, command them through actions and investigate - you'll enjoy Bot Colony. The game is played in an eerie South Pacitic setting where modern architecture and robots contrast with the jungle environment. It integrates adventure, simulation, RPG and puzzles into a unique language-based gameplay with a great atmospheric soundtrack. You'll get to experience Artificial Intelligence that is currently in the realm of cinematic fantasy in Her, Ex Machina, iRobot, Blade Runner, 2001 A Space Odyssey. It's a challenging and entertaining experience that will make you realize how literally machines process language, and how much we take for granted when we speak with people.KEY FEATURESType of speak freely and discover the story using your own words. The answers spoken by the robots is generated dynamically. Contrast with typical game storytelling, where canned voice acting is controlled by dialog trees. Experience the eerie atmosphere of a South Pacific island featuring ultra modern architecture and robots amid a lush jungle setting. The techno-romantic mood is enhanced by the original music soundtrack of the game. Play detective and piece together the events that took place in a house in a 48 hour period by exploring the robot's video observations. Work with the robots to scuttle violent sabotage attempts by robot-hating organizations.Game sessions are unique to each player: What you say controls how robots react and what they answer. Sessions of other players will have different dialog than your session. Every session is unique.Make the game your own: Teach robots new knowledge and new commands. Speak or type. The Microsoft Cognitive speech-to-text does an amazing job understanding what you say, irrespective of your accent. When speech-to-text makes mistakes, you can easily correct them. You can combine playing through speech or text according to your preference. Inspired by Bot Colony sci-fi novel, a near future industrial espionage thriller by Eugene Joseph. The novel ( available on Amazon Kindle) explores the verbal abilities of future robots and introduces the 5th law of robotics 'do as people do'. 7aa9394dea Title: Bot ColonyGenre: Adventure, Casual, Indie, RPG, Simulation, Strategy, Early AccessDeveloper:North SidePublisher:North SideRelease Date: 16 Jun, 2014 Bot Colony Download Crack Cocaine bot colony steam. bot colony download. bot colony free download. bot colony review. bot colony walkthrough. pulsar lost colony bot setup. bot colony game. bot colony giant bomb. pulsar lost colony bot inventory. bot colony gameplay. pulsar lost colony bot guide Can't make him say Allahu Akbar on command. 0/10.. so unawarte of my speech to text has to be in english and i do not have a windows 7 ultimate or enterpise wich makes it total unavble for me to play this game the proper way unfortunalyt but oh well another plenty's of money out the window guess i can't play it that's really bad pro's : looks like a very good game con's unable to get it to work because my pc is not in english therefor unable to work this should bee said more up front like a warning not every one is a geniusd on everything abbout windows on a side not it's strange my pc can't work since endwar was also speech to text but that did't care for my langues was not in english ... it looks like a sweet game but want to play it but can i no , not if 'ive buy a whole new win 7 ultimate wich is kinda foleish .. oh well. Interesting game with some mechanics that look promising. I'm sure if the game is further developed and polished, we'll have a real winner on our hands here. Pretty fun so far.. I bought Bot Colony a few years ago and I don't regret it even though the game is still in early access and probably will be for some time. This game is something completely different and unique. The developers of this game have succeeded in bringing to the market some completely new game mechanics that other companies are just dreaming about. They have come up with their own new AI mechanics for this game and made them part of the gameplay.I would recommend this game for people who:- Like games with new and unique approaches, new experiences- Like games\/genres with a bit slower gameplay (compared to fast paced action games)- Like to support a small company that works hard to start a completely new kind of genre of video games that will bring the whole industry forward- Are interested in AI, robotics, technology or scifi- Are interested\/prepared to play around a bit with robots and learn to communicate with them (Isn't really hard but not recommended for the most inpatient players or those that expect perfect AI that will be able to communicate with you like another human, the technology isn't really at that stage yet)- Are interested in playing a game with a lot to offer but that is still a work in progress and rough around the edges in some partsThe game is amazing as it is but would be even more great if the devs find a new publisher who will see the real potential of this game\/genre and the ambition and skills of these developers so we would be able to enjoy even more of their work in the future! There is no limit to the potential this genre and game series has with the right amount of work and money, I believe the technologies in the game will continue getting better and better with time. I believe this game is ahead of it's time in many ways, in the future there will probably be more games that attempt to add similar mechanics to their games. Right now this is the best you can find and a game worth playing if you are interested in AI or games that offer new and unique experiences.. Bought it for the laughs. Still disappointed. I'm changing my review mostly because the dev seems to really care about this game, and they seem to be paying attention to what people are saying. (I think they gave up)This in itself is what we need more of within the gaming world. As I said before, I think this can go far and I hope it does. It is great to see devs actually trying new things and taking risk.____Just played it today and there is still graphic bugs. Sometimes when you press exit, the buttons don't show up. But the biggest problem is still thishttps://youtu.be/6Aait8W-Ud8?t=31m57s(There is also a bug where if you saved a given name on a last play and start a new one. It doesn't ask for your name so it uses the last one.) Pulling the plug on Bot Colony: I am very sad to announce that we will have to shut down Bot Colony due to lack of sales. Bot Colony sales are so low we can't even cover the cost of the servers running the Natural Language Understanding software - which is $524 per month ( we don't even sell 2 units per day, which would enable us to keep the servers running). To give you some figures, the NLU technology powering Bot Colony cost around $20M and many years to develop. It is probably one of the best NLU technologies available in the world today. The game itself probably cost another $2M - $3M. On the other hand, the lifetime sales of the game to date are about $10K - not even one day of operating costs for us when we were fully staffed (we worked on it for 7 years). The update that we launched last Friday cost about $460,000 to develop. Incidentally, this update features some really innovative, unique gameplay, and I urge those who bought the game to try it - we worked really hard on it. When we released the update on Friday, we made public a video showing what we had achieved in Episode 3. Unfortunately, all of this only brought in a measly $200 in gross sales (we went up from 793 lifetime units to 814). This was the last straw that led to the decision today to shut the game down - 96 hours after launching the update. I've subsidized Bot Colony for years, and as a result I now owe $5M to the banks. My house - and it's a nice house that I love where I've lived the last 15 years - is on the market. I've had to lay off 40 of our employees - most of our staff - because of the lack of sales. It is a tragedy, especially because we've put our hearts into this game, believing we will change the industry by enabling players to converse with the characters in games. I've always enjoyed taking care of our customers, so I cringe at the thought of pulling the plug, but we don't have a choice. A customer wrote: This is an awesome update. Thank you for continuing to work on this. I've been excited about Bot Colony since I got it last June. Such a great concept! Thank you! The concept of characters that understand what the player says is unique and innovative, but may be ahead of its time. Not many people get excited about it (or know that Bot Colony game exists). I'll admit to inadequate marketing, problems with immature tech (and speech to text), an inexperienced dev team, etc - many factors that I did not foresee in 2007, when we started work on Bot Colony. Given the opportunity, I would have done a few things differently - but now it's too late.I realize that some of you paid money to buy a game that will soon be impossible to play - because it requires online servers that cost money to keep running, while no money comes in. I have advised Steam of the situation, and Bot Colony is no longer available to buy - in order to minimize the fallout when it will stop. We will keep the servers running until March 15, to give you enough time to enjoy the game that you bought. I hope you'll consider this fair. I'm offering to publish another video that tells the entire Bot Colony story - all the 12 episodes of Bot Colony, if you really care to see it (let's say if at least 10 people ask for it ). If anybody wants to buy Bot Colony knowing it will die March 15 - talk to Steam, and maybe they will sell it to you. For those who want to know the story that inspired Bot Colony and understand what robots could do in the near future, the Bot Colony novel is available here http://www.amazon.ca/Bot-Colony-Novel-Present-Future-ebook/dp/B00K7O6BSE To our few fans, thank you for supporting us and for playing our game!. Patreon Campaign: We are happy to announce that Dharker Studios is now on Patreon, delivering patrons daily artwork, weekly polls and monthly competitions for awesome physical rewards.https://www.patreon.com/DharkerStudioPlus patrons also receive copies of the various games we produce and release, and with many games in development there are lots of great rewards to enjoy.Checkout the campaign for more details and potentially have your say in how we develop future games and the content that is included within them.. Checkpoints in Intruder - April 28 Upgrade: Since the game was relaunched on February 21, we worked hard to offer you a smoother game experience. The main feature in this version are checkpoints in Intruder. You no longer have to finish the investigation (2 hours) AND the object placement (1 -2 hours) in one session. Just EXIT and then CONTINUE at a later time/date to continue playing from the last checkpoint. We create a checkpoint after every 4 Jimmy videos. BTW: Jimmy’s videos you uncoverd are listed like this (Thursday HH:MM, HH:MM, Friday HH:MM). Green HH:MM means you’ve seen all the videos in that morning, afternoon or evening, yellow HH:MM means there’s still videos to discover around that part of day. after every 3 objects replaced. A known problem we didn’t have time to address: if you’re in training and you restart from a checkpoint, training will restart from the beginning (Sorry!). For now, just Page Down to where you left off, or skip it if you finished it.OTHER IMPROVEMENTS Improved, shorter speech training ( got a earful about that :)) Fixed hang on return to main menu from gameplay Fixed screen resolution configuration problem Fixed ‘Cannot start Vision Application’ at startup We now have automated server monitoring to improve uptime A quick reference guide available from Store page linksWe’ll have another maintenance version soon to add checkpoint to Arrival, and make referring to objects easier.Following community feedback, the next major updates will be: Achievements improved Speech-to-text quality better understanding in Arrival (it’s not yet at par with Intruder) the Riot episode If you enjoy the game and would like to help, please write a short review on the Bot Colony Store page and Recommend the game. This is really important to us! Your positive review will help spread the word about the game. Thank you!. Bot Colony Heads Up: To react to recent posts, Bot Colony is still being developed. I'll summarize the game history for those who are new to this Community, and say a few words about our future plans.WHERE ARE WE NOW AND HOW DID WE GET HERE?When we released it in June 2014, we were 45. Now we're 7. If you go through old announcements, you'll see that the game came close to being shut down in January 2015. Recent posts complaining about jerkiness, frame rate, sluggish graphics - are unfortunately well founded. We won't be able to do much IN THE SHORT TERM. In a nutshell, we weren't lucky with our first 2 game engine choices. First we developed our own, called Anitron, until its architect (Glen Ozymok, recipient of an Academy Award) passed away in 2011 at a very young age. It took more than a year to switch to the Havok Vision engine. Then, Microsoft acquired Havok and discontinued Vision. Autodesk, who made HumanIK used for Inverse Kinematics (to get robots to grab stuff), shut it down. Ditto for Scaleform, used for User Interface. Bot Colony could have great potential if we had the resources to switch engines (again :) and go to Unreal 4 or Unity. However, the game never sold enough to support itself. In this situation, we need a partnership with another studio that believes in the potential of the game and wants to partner with us and help us change engines and improve gameplay. Or we need to make serious money in some other way.WHAT'S NEXT?We kept developing aggressively since 2014, but we focused mostly on our NLU technology, which is the unique thing about Bot Colony. It's also the technology we can control (as opposed to engine). We DO have the major parts of Riot working, but the Hunter Bot circles the Oil Rig at a frame rate that's simply too low. We decided that it was critical for us to keep making MAJOR advances in Natural Language Understanding (NLU). We're now working on a new game called Jimmy's World (see http://northsideinc.com/index.php/videogames/ ). Jimmy's World will be a free game using our next-generation technology platform. We'll launch it first on Steam and then on mobile and tablets. This is where our efforts are focused now. The technology from JW will be used in Bot Colony - but we'd really like to switch engines to benefit from all our work. If we can't offer a smooth game experience - similar to other 3D games, the game will never make it, never mind how great the conversation is and how smart the robots are. Microsoft have kindly given us the sources to Vision - but we'd rather work with a supported engine. We'll deliver on our promise to launch Riot, even if it has to be on Vision - but we won't do it before Jimmy's World is launched.FYI, we do have the story, assets, animations, etc for TWO episodes after Riot - one in the Old VIllage and one in the Hotel (if you read the novel), but it's premature to say more about that. Currently, Bot Colomy definitely qualifies as a labor of love.WHY BUY AND PLAY BOT COLONY?In spite of being rough around the edges, Bot Colony is a very unique game offering a very unique experience that simply cannot be had with another game: conversation as the main game mechanic. You can command robots through some fairly detailed actions, and you can investigate using your own words. You basically get 3 - 5 hours of gameplay in which you can have hundreds (we've seen > 400) of intelligent, relevant exchanges with robots, making progress in the game. And you can do this through SPEECH, that now works beautifully (you can also type). Is this worth fifteen bucks? Probably.. What's Next and The Untold Story video: We're now making a last ditch effort to find a solution to keep the game going past March 15. Since Valve removed the BUY button from our page, we're now offering Bot Colony Steam keys directly to our fans: you can buy packs of 3, 5 or 10 Steam keys; you can get a Steam key for buying the Bot Colony eBook; we're offering Steam keys to customers writing reviews on our Steam page, or to the first players who beat RVM and document that. See http://steamcommunity.com/app/263040/discussions/0/606068060836404191/ for details. About the eBook: few people heard about Bot Colony, so even fewer heard about the Bot Colony novel. It's an industrial espionage thriller depicting realistic verbal interactions with robots – it was meant to set the benchmark for the kind of AI we hoped to achieve in the game. A gift to our fans, Bot Colony - The Untold Story was uploaded to Steam recently (it's the 3rd video from the left on our Store page). This 30 minute video was made to give a potential developer a complete view of the game, to help estimate the effort required to complete it. The video goes through all 12 episodes, using prototype assets and stills. A bit clinical (given the intended audience), the video does give a good idea of the scope of Bot Colony, and how much we had advanced before we had to stop. I hope that people who watch it will agree that Bot Colony can be a lot more than just talking to boring drones. The game now has quite a bit to offer. In the new update, you piece together a juicy story from video clips a domestic robot recorded (RVM’s). You discover these video clips through conversation – truly unique gameplay not offered by any other game. In the two episodes released, you command robots through language under time-constraints – also unique gameplay. With the Untold Story video and the eBook – the Bot Colony story now has closure and can be enjoyed 'as is', like a released game. If Bot Colony continues to attract attention - it's now rated as popular content on Steam, who knows? What next?. MEGA UPDATE: New voice recognition, Achievements and more: With new speech recognition technology, Achievements, NLU improvements and more content in Arrival – this major upgrade is a real ‘game changer’. Even if you’ve played Bot Colony before – it's worth playing it again. You'll find it plays very differently - it’s a totally new, smoother, more immersive experience! We’ve integrated the Microsoft Cognitive Services speech API. No more speech training! Click Enter, start speaking, and click Enter again when you finish speaking. Check the text as it takes shape in the text box – you’ll find that much less editing is required. This upgrade is only available for Windows 8 and Windows 10 ( because Windows 7 doesn’t support websockets which is required by the cloud-based speech recognition, sorry!). More background here http://steamcommunity.com/games/263040/announcements/detail/2171147026184566319 - there's also a Microsoft-approved press release on this Monday morning. We’ve promised the next major release will have ACHIEVEMENTS. We're now delivering on this promise: 18 achievements, with more to come in the future. The game understands references to objects much better. You can now click on an object before you issue a robot command to put it in context. There’s more story to explore in the Arrival level.http://botcolony.com/media.php was redesigned to chronicle the game’s evolution. If you enjoy the game, please review it on the Bot Colony store page.PLEASE HELP! We need to get over 50 reviews to be more visible in searches. Please Recommend Bot Colony to help us bring you more cool features :)
